Overview

This course is not open to members of the public.
This course includes an overview of soil science, an introduction to soil conservation, soil considerations during forest operations, impact of forest operations on soils and a process for inspecting and reporting soil disturbance.

4. Forest soil critical impacts to long-term site productivity
5. Forest soil inspection process
6. Communicating soils related inspection results

Evaluation

There are six self-knowledge checks throughout the course.

Approximately one and a half hours learning time.

Registration for the FOMP classroom course is announced by email through a Call for Candidate process approximately 10 to 12 weeks prior to course start dates.

The Call for Candidate email is sent to specific FM training contacts.

Approved Government of Alberta employees and contractors must contact the identified FM Forest Area training contact for access to this online course.
