Online Introduction to Scaling 2016

This course provides background knowledge that will prepare you for the Scaling 100 course at the Hinton Training Centre.


1. What is scaling?  
2. Why do we scale and how does scaling connect to the bigger picture of forest management and sustainability?
3. There will also be an introduction to some scaling terminology and concepts including basic measurements and how to identify species by bark.
4. The final module will introduce the different types of scaling that are acceptable for crown dues payment in Alberta.

Registration for the Scaling 100 classroom course is announced by email through a Call for Candidate process approximately 10 to 12 weeks prior to course start dates.

The Call for Candidates email is sent to specific FM training contacts.

Approved Government of Alberta employees and contractors must contact the identified FM Forest Area training contact for access.
